Our RCP solutions for your hydrogen development

The future of the propulsion forms of our daily mobility, as well as the possibilities of power generation are becoming more and more diversified in order to meet the requirements for sustainable, but at the same time unrestricted usable energy. The future topic of hydrogen also offers various possible uses depending on the area of application. In order to offer our customers every freedom in the realization of their development projects, VEMAC faces this technological openness with a broad spectrum of possible uses. For this purpose, the performance ranges of the successful and flexible VeRa RCP family have been extended for the application area of hydrogen combustion as well as for fuel cell systems.

Hydrogen combustion

As a consistent further development of VeRa 3.0, the freely programmable injector output stage for solenoid valves has been expanded once again and adapted to the special requirements of hydrogen injectors. In addition to an additional braking phase after the end of injection to reduce mechanical stresses within the injectors, direct access to all important parameters of the energization profiles from the functional model makes it easy to adapt to future actuation strategies.

Fuel cell

For the control of fuel cell systems or individual components in the test and development environment, our RCP systems together with the VeRa TC development tool stand for short development cycles and fast integration in demo fleets, prototypes or small series. With the new generation of VeRa 4.0 Compact, large computing power and full diagnostic capability of the power outputs are now available in a small form factor. In order to offer our customers the optimal solution depending on the complexity and requirements of the systems, individual solutions for the control of fuel cells are also available on the basis of the VeRa 3.0. Here, the larger number of possible inputs and outputs comes particularly into focus.

VeRAH2_highres1000

VeRa H2

The world’s first rapid control prototyping ECU with advanced hydrogen capabilities. Rugged and compact housing for rapid transition from test bench to in-vehicle use.

Today’s markets are characterized by ever shorter development cycles and, at the same time, an enormous increase in the functionality of control units.

Therefore, we have developed VeRa 3.0 based on our proven and widely used VeRa system. Consistent model-based functional software development and powerful hardware are the key to meeting the increased demands on ECUs.

Apart from pure prototype use, the system is designed for small series and applications where the balancing act between prototype and series must be achieved. The special software architecture makes it possible to support a wide variety of hardware configurations. Furthermore, many third-party software packages are integrated through standard interfaces, so that an individual tool chain can be assembled.

VeRa 4.0 compact

Compact and powerful control unit with multiple interfaces

VeRa 4.0 Compact ports VEMAC’s prototyping and low-volume production technology of the VeRa family into a small, compact and cost-optimized design, but without compromising on computing power. Version 4.0 marks the start of the new generation of our RCP ECUs: based on NXP’s advanced MPC5777C microprocessor, with 3-core technology specially designed for safety-relevant automotive applications. The bus connectivity is extended by 2 additional CAN busses (CAN FD) and Ethernet/BroadR-Reach.

For programming all ECUs of the VeRa family, the well-proven VeRa-TC tool chain is available, which allows software to be developed completely model-based. The code generator used is Mathworks Simulink Coder for prototype applications and dSPACE Targetlink for production applications.
